The exhibition Money runs from September 18th through December 12th at the Pavillon Carré de Baudouin in Paris.
Open from tuesday to saturday, to 11 am until 6 pm (except holidays)
The exhibition Money includes the project of Stephen Chow : The Poverty Line and 42 artists who responded to a creative challenge.
The Poverty Line explores a simple question: what is the meaning of poverty in different countries? This project, a collaboration between Stefen Show and Hui-Yin Lin, began in 2010 in China, and has now expanded to 24 countries on six continents. The Poverty Line project is an attempt to show what it means to be poor, by taking photos of daily amounts of food you can buy if your income lies at the poverty line.
Concerning the creative challenge, the concept was simple: the festival sent a €20 note to 42 artists. Take this amount and, by using their own ways and ideas, by misuse, by need or by greed, we invited them to create their own added value. How did they transform or use this note or its material, financial or symbolic value?
